CELEBRATING DEMOCRACY
ON SATURDAY MAY 18, 2024 IACCT’S 9TH ANNUAL GALA—A CELEBRATION FILLED WITH A DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER, CAPTIVATING ENTERTAINMENT, AMAZING FOOD, AND GREAT COMPANY
The evening is spent honoring the impact Indian Americans have made on the Austin community and giving attendees the chance to interact with a number of elected and appointed leaders, all while celebrating democracy itself.
The APAPA-ATC/IACT Texas Capitol Summer Internship Program in Austin, TX is designed to transform current and future college students into future leaders in the State of Texas. This program provides an opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills, gain public policy experience, and become civically engaged. This is an invaluable opportunity for students to experience life in public service.
While the program is an excellent introduction for those seeking to major in government, political science, or other areas related to civics, the internship is also a great opportunity for students heading into STEM careers as the interns will gain broadly applicable leadership, communication, and executive presence skills.
The internship provides a behind-the scenes look into how our government works while giving participants the opportunity to make a tangible contribution.
Eligibility:
The program is open to all current Texas residents who are entering college in the coming school year, currently enrolled in undergraduate college, or currently enrolled in graduate college. Students who will be high school seniors in the coming school year (2023–2024) are also welcome to apply.
Application deadline is March 31, 2023. Click here to learn more about the program and to apply.
